Here are 5 activities that you can do in your community to help raise awareness and educate people about preterm birth.  These activities are designed for a wide variety of groups and can be done by almost anyone.  Click on the activity to download specific instructions and tips.

1.  Conduct a presentation

  • Preparation time:  About 30 minutes
  • Activity time:  About 20 minutes
  • Materials:  PowerPoint or Flip Chart of Preterm Birth:  A Kentucky Concern slide set

2.  Exhibit at a community event

  • Preparation time:  About 1 to 4 hours
  • Activity time:  Varies

3.  Educate pregnant women

  • Preparation time:  About 1 hour
  • Activity time:  About 15 minutes

4.  Distribute educational materials

5.  Take the message to local media
