It is not unusual for pregnant women to feel overwhelmed at times. There are several ways you can get help in Kentucky.
Your county Health Department offers several programs for pregnant women:
- HANDS (Health Access Nurturing Development Services)is a voluntary home visiting program for first-time parents and their babies, regardless of income. HANDS offers new families a place to turn for help to become the best parents possible.
- WIC is a special nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children. If you are pregnant, have just had a baby, are breastfeeding, or have a child under the age of five, you might be eligible for WIC.
- Quit smoking programs are also available at most county Health Departments. You can also get help to quit from
1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) and the Kentucky Quitline.
